Ashmolean Museum University Engagement Programme
The University Engagement Programme of the Ashmolean Museum (the UEP) was established at the University of Oxford in 2012 with funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Its purpose is to explore new avenues for the use of the Museum’s collections in the teaching of the University. The UEP employed three Teaching Curators and a Programme Director, each with a different specialismDr Senta German(Aegean Archaeology)Dr Mallica Kumbera Landrus(History of art and architecture in South Asia) anDr Jim Harris(European Sculpture c.1350-1620); anDr Giovanna Vitelli(17th-century colonial archaeology and early collecting). The Teaching Curators work closely with the Ashmolean’Curatorial Departments Western Art, Eastern Art, Antiquities and the Heberden Coin Room, their specialisms broadly reflecting these divisions. Ashmolean Museum
The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology () on Beaumont Street, Oxford, England, is Britain's first public museum. Its first building was erected in 1678–1683 to house the cabinet of curiosities that Elias Ashmole gave to the University of Oxford in 1677. It is also the world's second university museum, after the establishment of the Kunstmuseum Basel in 1661 by the University of Basel. The present building was built between 1841 and 1845. The museum reopened in 2009 after a major redevelopment, and in November 2011, new galleries focusing on Egypt and Nubia were unveiled. Saïd Business School (Oxford Saïd or SBS) is the business school of the University of Oxford. The School is a provider of management education and is consistently ranked as one of the world's top business schools. Oxford School of Management Studies was rebranded as Saïd Business School in 1996 after a donation from Wafic Saïd. New premises were built on Park End Street and opened in 2001. The Thatcher Business Education Centre was opened on the same site in 2012 after a further donation from Saïd.
