History Brian Pekarek served as the superintendent and principal from circa 2013-2014 until circa 2015–2016. Calvin Jones served as the superintendent and principal for the 2015–2016 school year. Jones chose not to continue his term, and he left his job in April 2016 due to a family emergency. Mary Clarkin of ''The Hutchinson News'' stated that this happened "abruptly". Ashland is a city in and the county seat of Clark County, Kansas, Clark County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the city was 783. History Ashland lies along what was once a military road from Fort Dodge (now Dodge City, Kansas) to the north and Fort Supply (Oklahoma), Fort Supply in the Indian Territory to the south. In 1870, during the Comanche Campaign against the Native Americans, the United States Army, Army built two redoubts along the Dodge/Supply trail near the current site of Ashland: the Bear Creek Redoubt, five miles to the north, and the Cimarron Redoubt, nine miles to the south. The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) is the organization which oversees interscholastic competition in the U.S. state of Kansas at the high school, high-school level. It oversees both athletic and non-athletic competition, and sponsors championships in several sports and activities. History The Kansas State High School Activities Association was formed in 1937 and incorporated in 1956. As early as 1910, Kansas schools organized the statewide Debate League and Athletic Association governed by high school principals. The Athletic Association started as a small voluntary group of fewer than 50 schools and grew to more than 500 schools by the 1920s. Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita. Sitka, Kansas
Sitka is an unincorporated community in Clark County, Kansas, United States. History Sitka was founded in 1909. Its post office was closed on May 22, 1964. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe depot, built in 1930, has been moved to Dodge City and is now part of the Boot Hill Museum. The town today consists of only three occupied houses, a grain elevator, a few vacant buildings, and numerous ruins. Most of the town is on private property.
