Ashish Karia
Ashish Vinod Karia (born 4 June 1986) is a Kenyan former first-class cricketer. Karia was born at Mombasa in June 1986. He was part of the Kenya national under-19 cricket team squad that took in the 2002 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, playing in two Youth One Day Internationals during the tournament against the West Indies and Papua New Guinea under-19 cricket teams. He later made what would be his only appearance in first-class cricket for Kenya against the Netherlands in the 2006–07 Intercontinental Cup at Nairobi. Kenya National Cricket Team
The Kenya national cricket team represents the Republic of Kenya in international cricket. Kenya is an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has Twenty20 International (T20I) status after the ICC granted T20I status to all of their members. They have been an associate member of the ICC since 1981. Since then they have played in five Cricket World Cups from 1996 to 2011 with their best result being a semi-final appearance at the 2003 Cricket World Cup in Southern Africa. They have only qualified for one ICC World Twenty20 tournament with that being in 2007. The Kenyan national team is governed by Cricket Kenya. Daan Lodewijk Samuel van Bunge (born 19 October 1982), commonly as Daan van Bunge, is a Dutch cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm leg break bowler. He is the currently Director of Cricket at Haileybury in the UK. He also works as a PE teacher on a school in The Hague, Netherlands. International career Van Bunge has represented the Netherlands at many age levels, including at the Under-15 World Cup in 1996, and on their Under-17 tour of England in 1997. He made his One Day International debut for the Netherlands in the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy against Sri Lanka. Ryan Neil ten Doeschate (; born 30 June 1980) is a former Dutch–South African cricketer who played for the Netherlands national cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. Ten Doeschate was named ICC Associate Player of the Year on a record three occasions, in 2008, 2010, and 2011. Gymkhana Club Ground
Nairobi Gymkhana Club is a cricket ground and team in Nairobi, Kenya. It hosted two matches during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. The ground has a capacity of 7,000 people. It is located north of the central business district, but not far from it. The ground is the main cricket venue in the country and the only one which could in any way be described as a major ground. 2006–07 ICC Intercontinental Cup
The 2006–07 ICC Intercontinental Cup was the third edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup first-class cricket tournament, an international cricket tournament between nations who have not been awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council. Defending champions Ireland won the tournament after three wins and one drawn game, defeating Canada by an innings in the final, and stretched their streak of unbeaten matches in the Intercontinental Cup to eight. The tournament lasted from 22 March 2006 to 23 May 2007. The number of participants was cut from 12 teams to eight following the 2005 edition, but the matches were lengthened from three to four days, and each team qualifying for the main stage played three games, instead of two in the 2005 and 2004 editions. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all.
