Arvika Municipality
Arvika Municipality (''Arvika kommun'') is a municipality in Värmland County in west central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Arvika. The present municipality was created in 1971 when the former City of Arvika was amalgamated with five rural municipalities of Glava, Gunnarskog, Älgå, Brunskog and Stavnäs. Arvika is most known for the annual Arvika Festival that attracts international artists. The municipalities of Sweden ( sv, Sveriges kommuner) are its lower-level local government entities. Jacob Waldemar de la Rose (born 20 May 1995) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward currently playing for HC Fribourg-Gottéron of the National League (NL). de la Rose was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He previously played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues. Since 2010, de la Rose has played for the Swedish national teams at the junior levels, winning silver medals at the 2012 IIHF World U18 Championships and the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Astrid Kjellaug Nordsjö (November 14, 1926 – March 31, 2021) was a Swedish-Norwegian artist. Nordsjö is considered one of the Nordic countries' foremost icon painters. She is represented in the Saint Catherine's Monastery in Egypt, in churches in Rome, London and New York City, but most of her artistic work is found in churches and chapels along with private collections in Norway and Sweden. Kjellaug Nordsjö was born in 1926 in Vestfossen, Norway, to a farming family with five daughters, where she was the oldest. The farm where the family lived was occupied during the German occupation of Norway during World War II by German soldiers. After the war, Nordsjö began studying at an art school in Oslo, where she was accommodated by acquaintances of her family. Later she was employed at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in Rotterdam, and at the same time she could continue studying at a local art school there. Tommy Sten Kristoffersson, actually Tommy Sten Kristoffersen, (born 1 May 1959 in Eda) is a Swedish race car driver whose father hails from Denmark. In the beginning of his career he competed in rallycross for Audi before starting a team in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) in 1998 running Audi A4 Quattros with himself as one of the drivers. Tommy Kristoffersson has competed for his team from 1998 to 2008, finishing 4th overall in 1998 and 2001. Rally is a wide-ranging form of motorsport with various competitive motoring elements such as speed tests (often called ''rally racing),'' navigation tests, or the ability to reach waypoints or a destination at a prescribed time or average speed. Rallies may be short in the form of trials at a single venue, or several thousand miles long in an extreme endurance rally. Per Torsten Eklund (born 21 June 1946) is a Swedish Rally and Rallycross driver. His nickname is "Pekka". In rallying he never made it to the very top but he has been very successful in his later rallycross career. Biography Saab works drive After his education as a driving instructor, together with later teammate Stig Blomqvist at the ''Kvinnersta Folkhögskola'' outside of Örebro, Eklund was a Saab factory driver from 1970 till 1979. In 1982, however, the year after Saab discontinued its official rallying involvement, he achieved the brand's last top position in a World Championship event, finishing fourth in the Swedish Rally driving a privately entered, Clarion-sponsored Saab 99 Turbo. Auto racing (also known as car racing, motor racing, or automobile racing) is a motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition. Kenny Bräck
Kenny Bräck (born 21 March 1966) is a Swedish former race car driver. Until his retirement from racing, he competed in the CART, Indy Racing League and the IROC series. He won the 1998 Indy Racing League championship and the 1999 Indianapolis 500, becoming the first Swedish driver to win the race. He survived one of the racing sport's biggest crashes at Texas Motor Speedway in 2003, where he recorded the highest horizontal g-force ever survived by a human being at . Eighteen months later he made a comeback at the Indy 500 and set the fastest qualifying time of the field. He retired from IndyCar racing after the race.
