Arup Debnath
Arup Debnath (born 15 July 1987) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Hindustan FC in DSA Senior Division. Career Early career Born in West Bengal, Debnath began his career with the Steel Authority of India before beginning his professional career at East Bengal of the National Football League, However, due to being at the same club as other, more reputable keepers such as Naseem Akhtar, Subrata Pal, and Abhra Mondal, Debnath found playing time hard to come by and thus he decided to sign for Air India FC of the I-League in 2008. After one season with Air India in which Debnath was the club's #1 he decided to move back to East Bengal to try and cement more playing time, however, that was not meant to be and thus he re-signed for Air India before the 2010–11 season. Abhra Mondal ( bn, অভ্র মন্ডল; born 14 July 1986) is an Indian goalkeeper coach and former footballer, who played as a goalkeeper. Career East Bengal Mondal signed for East Bengal FC in 2005 and ever since Mondal has mostly been used in the Federation Cup matches. After a spending two years at Pune, Mondal returned to East Bengal for the 2013-14 season. Loan to Pune On 24 November 2011 Mondal was officially loaned out by East Bengal to fellow I-League club Pune F.C. for the 2011-12 I-League season. He then made his debut for Pune against Air India FC in the I-League and helped Pune to the 2-0 victory. The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex is a sports complex located in Pune, India. The complex is situated about 15 km from Pune downtown and 5 km from Hinjawadi. This complex was the venue for the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, Khelo India Youth Games in 2019 and AFC Women's Asian Cup. History This complex was built in 1994 for the National Games 1994, which were hosted by Pune. The 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games were hosted here. In 2008 the World Junior Table Tennis Circuit was successfully held here. The 2009 FIVB Men's Junior World Championship was held here. The city also hosted FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women 2009. The 2013–14 I-League (known as the ''Airtel I-League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the seventh season of the I-League, the top-tier Indian professional league for football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 21 September 2013, and ended on 28 April 2014. Churchill Brothers were the defending champions, having won their second I-League title in the previous season. On 21 April 2014, Bengaluru FC were crowned champions with one game remaining, winning their first ever I-League title by defeating Dempo 2–4 at Fatorda Stadium. Bengaluru FC also created history by becoming the first team ever to win the I-League title in its debut season. The 2012 Durand Cup was the 125th season of the Durand Cup, the third oldest football tournament in the world, which is a knock-out competition held in India. Churchill Brothers were the current holders, having beaten Prayag United in the 2011 Final. The tournament was held from 16 August to 1 September with all matches at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. The league serves as the second top tier of Indian Football, using promotion and relegation with the I-League, which is top tier league of India. I-League 2nd Division
I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022.
