Arthur Spear
Arthur Spear (6 February 1883 – 12 December 1946) was an English professional association football player in the years prior to the First World War. He made over 130 appearances in The Football League. Career Born in Bristol, Spear featured prominently in Bristol City's successes in the first decade of the 20th century under Manager Harry Thickett. He played for local clubs in Bristol before in July 1904 he moved to Bristol City in the Second Division. He made his league debut in 1–0 win at Glossop on 27 December 1904, making 12 appearances at half back deputising for Peter Chambers and Billy Jones in 1904–05 for the "Robins" who finished fourth in the Second Division. When Bristol City finished as Second Division champions in the following season, Spear contributed his only goal in the promotion-clinching 2–0 win versus Leeds City on 14 April 1906. FA Cup
The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). Since 2015, it has been known as The Emirates FA Cup after its headline sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Women's FA Cup. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. The competition was based on two points for a win from 1888 until the increase to three points for a win in 1981. Archie Annan
Walter Archibald Annan (23 March 1877 – 23 January 1949) was a Scottish professional footballer in the years before World War I. A full back, he made over 170 appearances in the English Football League. He featured prominently in Bristol City's successes in the first decade of the 20th century under manager Harry Thickitt. He also played for Sunderland, Sheffield United, and Burslem Port Vale. He helped Bristol City to the Second Division title in 1905–06, a second-place finish in the First Division in 1906–07, and also played in the FA Cup final in 1909.
