Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon
Arthur Hill-Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon ( 1694 – 30 January 1771), was an Irish politician. Born Arthur Hill, he adopted the surname Hill-Trevor in 1759. He was the second son of Michael Hill of Hillsborough, M.P. and Privy Councillor, and Anne Trevor. His maternal grandfather was the leading seventeenth-century statesman Sir John Trevor. Arthur's elder brother was Trevor Hill. 1st Viscount Hillsborough, father of the 1st Marquess of Downshire. He represented Hillsborough in the Irish House of Commons from November 1715 and then County Down from 1727 until he was raised to the Irish House of Lords when created Viscount Dungannon and Baron Hill of Olderfleet in the Peerage of Ireland on 17 February 1766. He was appointed High Sheriff of Down for 1736 and appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland on 13 August 1750. Michael Hill (1672–1699)
Michael Hill (7 August 1672 – 1699) was a politician in England and Ireland. Biography He was the son of William Hill, of Hillsborough by his wife Eleanor, daughter of Archbishop Michael Boyle.His father later married Mary, daughter of Marcus Trevor, 1st Viscount Dungannon. Michael Hill was Member of Parliament for Saltash in the English House of Commons from 1692 to 1695, and for Hillsborough in the Irish House of Commons from 1695 to 1699. He also served as Governor and Custos Rotulorum of County Down and appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland in 1694. Family In 1690, he married Anne, daughter of Sir John Trevor; they had two sons and one daughter. His eldest son and heir Trevor was made Viscount Hillsborough. Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, (1 May 1769 – 14 September 1852) was an Anglo-Irish soldier and Tory statesman who was one of the leading military and political figures of 19th-century Britain, serving twice as prime minister of the United Kingdom. Samuel James Waring, 1st Baron Waring (19 April 1860 – 9 January 1940), known as Sir Samuel Waring, Bt, between 1919 and 1922, was a British industrialist, public servant and benefactor. Biography Waring was the second son of Samuel James Waring, of Liverpool, by Sarah Ann Wells, daughter of Thomas Wells, of Everton, Liverpool. He was the grandson of John Waring, who had arrived in Liverpool from Belfast in 1835 and established a wholesale cabinet maker business. In 1893 Waring was given the task of opening a branch of the family furniture making company in London. In 1897 Waring was responsible for the merger with Gillow and Company in 1897 to become Waring & Gillow, and of which Waring became chairman. Trevor Hill, 1st Viscount Hillsborough (1693 – 5 May 1742) was an Anglo-Irish landowner and politician who sat in the Irish House of Commons from 1713 to 1715 and in the British House of Commons from 1715 to 1722. Hill was the eldest son of Michael Hill of Hillsborough and his wife Anne Trevor, daughter of Sir John Trevor, MP of Brynkinalt, Denbighshire. He was a member of an influential landowning family of County Down, Ireland. His father died in 1699 and Hill succeeded to his estates. Michael Boyle (Archbishop Of Armagh)
Michael Boyle, the younger (c. 1609 – 10 December 1702) was a Church of Ireland bishop who served as Archbishop of Dublin from 1663 to 1679 and Archbishop of Armagh from 1679 to his death. He also served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland, the last time a bishop was appointed to that office. Early career Boyle was born circa 1609, the eldest son of Richard Boyle, Archbishop of Tuam and Martha Wright. His uncle was Michael Boyle the elder. It was through the descendants of his cousin Lieutenant Colonel Richard Boyle that the Boyle name became ennobled over the centuries with multiple peerages, including Earl of Cork, Earl of Orrery and Earl of Shannon.
