Arthur Collett
Arthur Collett (8 May 1879 – 2 August 1968) was a Norwegian pediatrician and President of the Norwegian Pediatric Society. Background He was born in Trondhjem a son of estate owner Albert Collett and Nanna Høegh. In 1912, he married Baroness Ingeborg Wedel-Jarlsberg, daughter of estate owner Baron Carl Gustav Wedel-Jarlsberg of Atlungstad and Amalie Thomine Michelet. Career Arthur Collett graduated as a medical doctor at the Royal Frederick University in 1905 and was conferred the dr.med. (D.Sc.) degree in 1920, with the thesis ''Om urinveisinfektion i barnealderen''. Early in his career, he was district physician in Modum and deputy consultant in pediatrics at the National Hospital 1911–1915. He had a private practice in Christiania (Oslo) from 1911. Norwegian Society Of Pediatricians
The Norwegian Society of Pediatricians ( no, Norsk barnelegeforening) is the Norwegian association of pediatricians. The society was founded in 1919 by Axel Johannessen, the first professor of pediatrics in Norway. The society was originally named the Norwegian Pediatric Society ( no, Norsk Pediatrisk Selskap), and was an independent association from its establishment. In 1928 it formally became a specialist association within the Norwegian Medical Association. As of 2012, the society had 845 members, including 593 certified specialists in pediatrics. Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Albert Collett
Albert Peter Severin Collett (15 September 1842 – 25 June 1896) was a Norwegian businessman, timber merchant and sawmill owner. He founded Firma Albert Collett and became one of the largest landowners in the valley of Namdalen in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. Collett was born at Buskerud Manor at Åmot in Modum, Norway. He was the youngest son of landowner John Collett (1807–1891), grandson of judge Peter Collett and grandnephew of Christian Ancher Collett. He was also the father of chemist and industrialist Emil Collett and physician Arthur Collett. He was originally a clerk in Christiania Bank og Kreditkasse. The Count of Wedel-Jarlsberg (also ''Wedel Jarlsberg'') is a title of the Norwegian nobility and of the Danish nobility. The family of Wedel-Jarlsberg is a branch of the larger family von Wedel, which comes from Pomerania, Germany. Modum
Modum is a municipality in Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Vikersund. The municipality of Modum was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area has a long tradition of skiing with several famous skiers. In the United Kingdom, Ireland, and parts of the Commonwealth, consultant is the title of a senior hospital-based physician or surgeon who has completed all of their specialist training and been placed on the specialist register in their chosen speciality. Their role is entirely distinct from that of general practitioners, or GPs. The League of Nations (french: link=no, Société des Nations ) was the first worldwide intergovernmental organisation whose principal mission was to maintain world peace. It was founded on 10 January 1920 by the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War. The main organization ceased operations on 20 April 1946 but many of its components were relocated into the new United Nations. The League's primary goals were stated in its Covenant.
