Arthur Brown (born 10 December 1949) is a former Scotland international rugby union player. Rugby Union career Amateur career He played for Gala. He was part of the Gala 7s side that won the Gala Sevens in 1969 beating Loughborough Colleges in the final; and in 1970, beating Llanelli in the final. The Gala 7s side of Ken Oliver, Peter Brown, Johnny Brown, Dunc Paterson, Arthur Brown, John Frame and Drew Gill were a notable side. Nicknamed the ''magnificent seven'' the Gala 7s won 16 Sevens tournaments between 1970 and 1972. Provincial career He played for South of Scotland District. International career He was capped 5 times for Scotland. His first two matches for Scotland were against England, in successive weeks. Scotland beat England twice over those 2 weeks; and it remains the only time that this has happened. John Frame (rugby Union)
John Neil Munro Frame (born 8 October 1946) is a Scottish former rugby union international. Born in Edinburgh, Frame was raised in Inverness and attended Glenalmond College, Perthshire. Frame, a centre, played for Gala RFC and Edinburgh University RFC. He gained 23 caps for Scotland, making his debut in 1967 against the touring All Blacks at Murrayfield. In the 1971 centenary match against England, he scored two tries in a Scotland win, the first after only 13 seconds is one of the fastest known tries in international rugby. Duncan Paterson
Duncan Paterson (27 March 1943 – 22 December 2009) was a Scottish rugby union player. He played at scrum-half, for Gala RFC at club level and was capped at international level for Scotland. While he had a short and quiet international career, he served in the administrative offices of the Scottish Rugby Union in the late 1990s. Playing career Paterson earned his first international cap for Scotland against South Africa in December 1969. During the high-point of his career, Paterson started all of his country's matches during the 1971 Five Nations Championship. His most memorable match took place that same year against England at Twickenham Stadium, where the Scots had not won since 1938.
