Artavis Pierce
Artavis Pierce (born May 17, 1996) is an American football running back who is a free agent. He played college football at Oregon State. Professional career Chicago Bears Pierce signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL draft on April 28, 2020. He was placed on the reserve/ COVID-19 list by the team on July 27, 2020, and activated six days later. He was waived on September 5, as part of final roster cuts, and re-signed to the practice squad the next day. The Bears promoted Pierce to the active roster on September 29. He made his NFL debut in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers as a special teams player, while his first carries came four weeks later against the Minnesota Vikings, during which he rushed three times for nine yards. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The 2024 UFL dispersal draft was the player selection process to fill the rosters of the eight teams for the 2024 UFL season and disperse the rosters from the eight teams from its component conferences, the XFL and USFL, that were not retained in the merger. The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team. Seasons run from February to April, with each team playing a ten-game regular season, and four progressing to the playoffs to crown a season champion. It is headquartered in Arlington, Texas. Wildcat Formation
Wildcat formation describes a formation for the offense in football in which the ball is snapped not to the quarterback but directly to a player of another position lined up at the quarterback position. (In most systems, this is a running back, but some playbooks have the wide receiver, fullback, or tight end taking the snap.) The Wildcat features an unbalanced offensive line and looks to the defense like a sweep behind zone blocking. A player moves across the formation prior to the snap. However, once this player crosses the position of the running back who will receive the snap, the play develops unlike the sweep. The Wildcat is a gambit rather than an overall offensive philosophy.
