Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev
Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev (russian: Арсений Тарасевич-Николаев; born 21 February 1993) is a Russian concert pianist, born in Moscow. Tarasevich-Nikolaev's grandmother was Tatiana Nikolaeva. He began piano studies at age four. His public debut was at age nine, with the Bryansk City Chamber Orchestra. From 2000 to 2011, he studied at the Central School of Music of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, where his teachers included Alexander Mndoyants. In 2011, he entered the Moscow Conservatory, and continued his piano studies with Nikolai Lugansky, Sergey Dorensky, Andrey Pisarev and Pavel Nersessian. Prizes and awards Tarasevich-Nikolaev has received several piano competition prizes. Tatiana Nikolaeva
Tatiana Petrovna Nikolayeva (russian: Татья́на Петро́вна Никола́ева, ''Tat'jana Petrovna Nikolajeva''; May 4, 1924November 22, 1993) was a pianist, composer, and teacher from the Soviet Union. Life Nikolayeva was born in Bezhitsa, in the Bryansk district, on May 4, 1924. Her mother was a professional pianist and studied at the Moscow Conservatory under the renowned pedagogue Alexander Goldenweiser, and her father was an amateur violinist and cellist. Nikolayeva won first prize in the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig, which was founded to mark the bicentenary of Bach's death in 1750. Dmitri Shostakovich, who was a member of the jury, composed and dedicated the 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87, to her: it remained an important part of her piano repertoire. Nikolai Lvovich Lugansky (russian: Никола́й Льво́вич Луга́нский; born 26 April 1972) is a Russian pianist. Early life and education Nikolai Lugansky was born on 26 April 1972 in Moscow, Russia, to research scientist parents. At the age of five, before he had learned to read music, he played a Beethoven piano sonata learned completely by ear. He studied piano at the Moscow Central Music School and the Moscow Conservatory. His teachers included Tatiana Kestner, Tatiana Nikolayeva and Sergei Dorensky. Career During the 1980s and early 1990s, Lugansky won prizes at numerous piano competitions, most notably the Silver Medal at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in 1994 (no first prize was awarded). Pavel Nersessian (Russian: ''Павел Тигранович Нерсесьян'', born 26 August 1964) is a Russian classical pianist. He is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Professor of the Moscow Conservatory State Conservatory after P.I. Tchaikovsky and Boston University. Biography Pavel Nersessian was born in Ramenskoye, a town outside Moscow, Russia Federation on 26 August 1964. In 1971-1982 he studied at the Central Music School (Class by V. Levin). In 1973 he made his debut by playing the Concerto No. 5 in F minor, BWV 1056 by Johann Sebastian Bach with the orchestra in the city of Gorky. Sydney International Piano Competition
The Sydney International Piano Competition is a music competition, presented in Sydney and broadcast live throughout Australia and internationally. It is held every four years, over a three-week period in July–August, and is internationally recognised as one of the world's great piano competitions. The 12th competition was originally scheduled to take place in July 2020 but has since been postponed due to Covid19. The competition was established in July 1977 by Claire Dan, with co-founders Rex Hobcroft and Robert Tobias, and was admitted as a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in 1978.
