Arnold Kruiswijk
Arnold Kruiswijk (; born 2 November 1984) is a former Dutch professional footballer who played as a left back. Club career Born in Groningen, Kruiswijk started his career at local side Groningen. In the 10 September 2006 match against Heracles Almelo, Kruiswijk scored the fastest own goal ever in the Eredivisie, misplacing a back pass to the keeper that ended up in the goal after 9 seconds. After the 2007–08 season, Kruiswijk moved to the Belgian club RSC Anderlecht. In January 2010, Kruiswijk went on loan to Dutch side Roda JC until the end of the season. On 21 May 2010 he signed a four-year contract for SC Heerenveen, where he was reunited with his former Groningen-coach Ron Jans. In 2014, he moved to Vitesse. On 1 July 2014, preceding his release from Heerenveen, Kruiswijk joined fellow Eredivisie side Vitesse. SBV Vitesse Arnhem (''Stichting Betaald Voetbal Vitesse Arnhem''), widely known as Vitesse () or internationally as well Vitesse Arnhem, is a Dutch professional association football, football club located in the municipality of Arnhem. Sparta Rotterdam () is a Dutch professional football club based in Rotterdam. Established on 1 April 1888, Sparta Rotterdam is the oldest professional football team in the Netherlands. 2006–07 Eredivisie
The 2006–07 Eredivisie season began on August 18, 2006. The season saw PSV Eindhoven quickly building a gap with the other teams. After 20 matches, the club was 11 points ahead of AZ and 12 points ahead of Ajax. The lead quickly dissipated in the 13 matches that followed. A draw of PSV at FC Utrecht in the penultimate round saw AZ and Ajax catching up. The three clubs were all on 72 points from 33 matches, with the AZ on top due to goal difference. Ajax were second, PSV were third. AZ suffered a shock defeat at league minnows Excelsior Rotterdam in the final round, playing with 10 men after 15 minutes in the game. The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. It is considered one of the best European leagues. The UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2007 were held from 10 June 2007 to 23 June 2007. It was the 16th staging of UEFA's European Under-21 Championship. Summary For the first time, a host nation was chosen ahead of the competition – the Netherlands, who were also the defending champions, were exempt from qualifying. The host nation was chosen on 15 December 2005. England, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and Sweden also submitted bids.
