Arne Larsen
Arne Kjell Larsen (born 23 December 1937) is a retired Norwegian Nordic combined skier who competed internationally in the early 1960s. Arne Kjlell Larsen was born in Heggedal, and represented Heggedal IL. Larsen was a baker by occupation, and he was nicknamed "Den glade baker fra Heggedal" ('The Happy Baker from Heggedal') by commentator Bjørge Lillelien. He won the gold in the individual event at the 1962 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes compete in cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing and ski jumping. The Nordic combined at the Winter Olympics has been held since the first ever 1924 Winter Olympics, Winter Olympics in 1924, while the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup has been held since 1983. Many Nordic combined competitions use the Gundersen method, where placement in the ski jumping segment results in time (dis)advantages added to the contestant's total in the cross-country skiing segment (e.g. the ski jumping winner starts the cross-country skiing race at 00:00:00 while the one with the lowest jumping score starts with the longest time penalty). Bengt Eriksson
Bengt Eriksson (22 January 1931 – 19 November 2014) was a Swedish nordic combined skier. He won an individual silver medal at the 1956 Winter Olympics and finished 10th at the 1960 Games. Between 1953 and 1966 he won eight national titles. He also competed nationally in association football and internationally in ski jumping, finishing 19th in the normal hill at the 1960 Olympics. Holmenkollen () is a mountain and a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It goes up to above sea level and is well-known for its international skiing competitions. Overview In addition to being a residential area, the area has been a ski recreation area since the late 19th century, with its famous ski jumping hill, the Holmenkollbakken, hosting competitions since 1892.
