Arne Jensen (banker)
Arne Jensen (1914 – 2002) was a Norwegian banker. Born 7 March 1914 in Kristiania, and brother of Olav Harald Jensen, he received his cand.jur. degree. He was director of the Norwegian Savings Banks Association from 1942 to 1960, the savings bank Akers Sparebank from 1960 to 1970, and Oslo Sparebank from 1970 to 1979 (since 1978 named Sparebanken Oslo/Akershus). Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. Olav Harald Jensen (1917–1991) was a Norwegian economist. He was educated in business administration, and was hired in 1955 as a lecturer at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). He was a professor at Åbo Akademi University from 1958, before returning to NHH as a professor from 1960 to 1984. The Norwegian Savings Banks Association ( no, Sparebankforeningen) is the trade organization for savings banks in Norway. It was founded in 1914 as ''Centralforeningen for Norges Sparebanker''. Director since 2002 is Arne Hyttnes. The board currently consists of Stein Hannevik (chair), Liv Fiksdahl, Helge Roar Dalen, Finn Haugan, Elisabeth Johansen, Hilde Kraggerud, Anlaug Johansen, Olav Arne Fiskerstrand and Ivar Fjærtoft. In 2010 it founded the cooperation organization Finance Norway together with the Norwegian Financial Services Association.
