Armida Rowing Club
The Armida Rowing Club (ARC) is one of the first Italian rowing clubs, founded in Turin in 1869. Società canottieri Armida di Torino History In the late 19th century several sports clubs were established by the generic name of 'Canottieri' (Rowers) in the Valentino Park in Turin. In 1869 the Canottieri Armida was founded. The original members were a group of young people only inspired by the desire to have fun paddling on the river. River Po
The Po ( , ; la, Padus or ; Ancient Ligurian: or ) is the longest river in Italy. It flows eastward across northern Italy starting from the Cottian Alps. The river's length is either or , if the Maira, a right bank tributary, is included. Edoardo Bosio
Edoardo Bosio (; 9 November 1864 – 31 July 1927) was an Italians, Italian footballing innovator from Turin who played as a Forward (association football), forward. He is a prime figure in the history of Italian football as evidence exists to show that he founded the earliest football club in the country; Torino Football and Cricket Club. He was also a clever rower of the Armida Rowing Club in Turin. Parco del Valentino (also known as Valentino Park) is a popular public park in Turin, Italy. It is located along the west bank of the Po river. The Palace of Venaria (Italian: Reggia di Venaria Reale) is a former royal residence and gardens located in Venaria Reale, near Turin in the Piedmont region in northern Italy. It is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997. The history of rowing as a sport has prevailed it as one of the oldest traditions in the world. What began as a method of transport and warfare eventually became a sport with a wide following, and a part of the cultural identity of the English speaking world.
