Armenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Boom Boom" written by Hayk Hovhannisyan, Hayk Harutyunyan and Sosi Khanikyan. The song was performed by Emmy, who was selected internally by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) to represent Armenia in the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Emmy's selection as the Armenian artist was announced on 11 December 2010, while the song was selected through a national final, which took place on 5 March 2011 where four songs competed. "Boom Boom" was selected as the winning song following the combination of votes from a professional jury and a public televote. Armenia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2011. Performing during the show in position 4, "Boom Boom" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Emmy (Armenian Singer)
Emma Bejanyan (; born 12 April 1984), better known as Emmy () is an Armenian singer. She is considered one of Armenia's most popular and influential singers, being labelled as a "pop princess" and "Armenian pop icon". Emmy represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and became the country's first non-qualifier. Early career Emmy's career took off immediately after she recorded her first song, "Hayastan," and released its video, in 1993. Avetik Abrahamyan ( hy, Ավետիք Աբրահամյան; born 20 February 1980), best known as Arthur Abraham, is an Armenian-German former professional boxer who competed from 2003 to 2018. He held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including the IBF middleweight title from 2005 to 2009, and the WBO super-middleweight title twice between 2012 and 2016. Martin Kesici (born 29 April 1973 in Berlin) is a German singer-songwriter and television personality. Harout Arthur Der-Hovagimian (sometimes spelled "Ter-Hovakimyan"; born 22 February 1974) is a Canadian-Armenian composer, songwriter and record producer. Career Harout Arthur Der-Hovagimian signed his first recording contract at the age of 17 with the newly found Canadian record label Hi-Bias Records. Biography Hayko was born on 25 August 1973 in Yerevan, Armenia (then part of the Soviet Union).
