Armando Marçal
Armando de Souza Marçal, better known as Marçalzinho (born 17 December 1956) is a Brazilian percussionist. Biography Marçal started in music at 14. As the son of Mestre Marçal (1930-1994) who operated the largest Brazilian samba school GRES Portela from 1978 to 1986, while his grandfather Armando Marçal was a famous samba composer and formed a famous samba duo together with Alcebíades Bide Barcelos. In United States Marcal worked with artists such as Pat Metheny and Paul Simon. In Brazil he worked alongside big names in Brazilian popular music, such as Gal Costa, Jorge Ben Jor, Veloso, John Bosco, Djavan, Vanessa da Mata, Chico Buarque, 'Blitz', Ivan Lins and Elis Regina. He was introduced to percussion in Paralamas do Sucesso and was also a member of the band 'Lulu'. Elis Regina
Elis Regina Carvalho Costa (March 17, 1945 – January 19, 2002), known professionally as Elis Regina (), was a Brazilian singer of MPB and jazz music. She is also the mother of the singers Maria Rita and Pedro Mariano. She became nationally renowned in 1965 after singing "Arrastão" (composed by Edu Lobo and Vinícius de Moraes) in the first edition of TV Excelsior festival song contest and soon joined ''O Fino da Bossa'', a television program on TV Record. Stephan Remmler
Stephan Remmler (born 25 October 1946) is a German singer, composer and producer. He became famous as the lead singer of the German band Trio, alongside Gert Krawinkel, who played the guitar, and Peter Behrens, who played the drums. After the deaths of the other two, Remmler is the only surviving member of Trio. After the split of Trio in 1986, Remmler continued his musical career as solo artist, releasing various singles and albums until 1996. His work contains Schlager and drinking songs as well. His biggest hits were ''Keine Sterne in Athen'' (1986, released in English as ''I don't go to U.S.A.'' in 1987) and ''Alles hat ein Ende (nur die Wurst hat zwei)'' in 1987. ''Secret Story'' is an album by Pat Metheny released in 1992 that won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 1993. ''Letter from Home'' is the sixth studio album by the Pat Metheny Group. It was released in 1989 by Geffen Records. In 1990, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance. It was certified gold by the RIAA on July 23, 1998. The album marked the return of Pedro Aznar, who became a member of the Group on the album '' First Circle''. It also featured a reemphasis on increased instrumental diversity and was a huge commercial success, comfortably making the Top 200 album chart at ''Billboard'' magazine.
