Arman Darchinyan
Arman Darchinyan (born 30 April 1994) is an Armenian boxer. Darchinyan qualified to represent Armenia in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics' boxing middleweight division. He beat Slovakia's Andrej Csemez 5-0 and awaits the quarterfinals on August 1. Personal life Darchinyan is married and has a daughter. Andrej Csemez
Andrej Csemez ( hu, Csemez András; born 6 May 1998) is a Slovak amateur boxer who fights out of KO Box Club Galanta. He is a member of the Hungarian community in Slovakia. Andrej won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games and a gold at the 2018 European Union Championships, both at middleweight. In addition, he competed at two World Championships in 2017 and 2019. Amateur career Csemez started boxing at the age of 12 when a boxing gym, KO Box Club, was opened up in Galanta near his village by legendary boxer and former world lightweight title challenger Tomáš Kovács. Although he had also showed interest in football and judo, he began personally training under Kovács soon thereafter. Vic Darchinyan
Vakhtang "Vic" Darchinyan ( hy, Վախթանգ Դարչինյան; born 7 January 1976) is an Armenian former professional boxer who competed from 2000 to 2017. He held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including the IBF flyweight title from 2004 to 2007; and the WBA (Undisputed, later Unified), WBC, IBF, and lineal super-flyweight titles between 2008 and 2010. Additionally, he held a record four IBO titles at flyweight, super-flyweight, and twice at bantamweight between 2005 and 2011. A southpaw with a highly unique fighting style and formidable punching power, Darchinyan became the first Armenian boxer to win a world title in 2004. The boxing competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour. The event was only open to men and bouts were contested over four rounds of two minutes each. Five judges scored the fighters in real time and the boxer with the most points at the end was the winner. Like other Olympic combat sports, two bronze medals are awarded; in the case of boxing, both losing semi-finalists receive a bronze medal, with no further play-off.
