Armada Arndale Shopping Centre
Armada Arndale is a shopping centre located in the suburb of Kilkenny in South Australia and is managed by Armada Funds Management. It used to be managed by Vicinity Centres (formerly Federation Centres) and Westfield. The facility is located at the intersection of main arterial roads, Torrens, Hanson and Regency roads. There are approximately 95 retailers including Harris Scarfe, Big W, Woolworths, Romeos Foodland, Aldi, and Hoyts Cinema with over 2000 parking spaces. History Armada Arndale was first opened in 1963. It was built for the UK Development company Arndale Property Trust. It was the first in Australia of a chain of shopping centres by the Arndale development group, the other being Westfield Marion. Kilkenny, South Australia
Kilkenny is an inner north-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Charles Sturt. It is named after Kilkenny ( Cill Chainnigh), Ireland. History Before the colonisation of South Australia in 1836, the land now called Kilkenny was occupied by the Kaurna people. The suburb of Kilkenny was created by subdivision of section 388 of the Hundred of Yatala in 1849 and was known as the Township of Kilkenny. Section 388 was bounded on its north east by Torrens Road, indicating the historic township occupied only the southern half of the present suburb. The present-day boundaries of Kilkenny include the former suburb of Challa Gardens, created by subdivision of section 411E of the same hundred in 1950, which was also known as Woodville East and Kilkenny North prior to the 1950 subdivision. Torrens Road
Torrens Road is an arterial road in the northwestern suburbs of Adelaide, Australia. The road is aligned southeast to northwest and is parallel with Port Road for most of its length. Route It commences at the City Ring Route along the edge of North Adelaide, and heads northwest. Major roads that intersect Torrens Road include Churchill Road (A22), South Road, and Regency Road. It meets the Outer Harbor railway line in Rosewater, and ceases a short distance later, a couple of hundred metres south of Grand Junction Road (A16). The short section between Park Terrace and Churchill Road at the southeastern end of Torrens Road is designated route A22, which then follows Churchill Road. Regency Road (and its eastern section as Muller Road) is a main east-west road forming a continuous connection between the inner northern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. Located approximately north of the city centre, Regency Road carries a large amount of freight traffic, being located near Regency Park and the Churchill Road industrial area.
