Arm is an unincorporated community in Lawrence County, Mississippi, United States. Arm is located on Mississippi Highway 43 east-southeast of Monticello, and south of the junction with Mississippi Highway 43A. Area codes 601 and 769 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for central and southern Mississippi, excluding the three counties of the Gulf Coast. Area code 601 was one of the original North American area codes assigned in 1947. Until 1997, it served the entire state of Mississippi. The Gulf and Ship Island Railroad (G&SI) was constructed in the state of Mississippi, USA, at the turn of the 20th century to open a vast expanse of southern yellow pine forests for commercial harvest.
