Arlene Julé
Arlene G. Julé (born March 18, 1946) is a Canadian politician, who represented the electoral district of Humboldt in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1995 to 2003. First elected as a member of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party, she joined the new Saskatchewan Party caucus in 1997. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was educated in Bruno. She worked on a mixed farm with her husband Robert and was a teacher associate for special needs children before entering politics. In the assembly, Julé was concerned with issues such as the prevention of child prostitution. She did not run for reelection in 2003. Bruno, Saskatchewan
Bruno is a town located 90 km east of Saskatoon and 35 km west of Humboldt. Its current mayor is Dale Glessman. Bruno is the only community in the prairies to hold an annual cherry festival. Bruno Clayworks located 4 km west of Bruno produced over one million bricks between the years 1905 and the 1960s. The historic Old Fire Hall and Jail, a heritage building housing the Bruno Museum, was built from bricks manufactured at the brick plant, as were many other area buildings. The bricks manufactured by the Bruno Clayworks were a unique sideways "T" shape which allowed rows of bricks to interlock when rotated 180º. History Bruno was named after Father Bruno Doefler, who came to the area along with other Germans from Minnesota in 1902. Humboldt (provincial Electoral District)
Humboldt was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. Located in central Saskatchewan, this constituency was one of 25 created for the 1st Saskatchewan general election in 1905. Incorporated as a city in 2000, Humboldt (pop. 4,998) was the largest centre in the riding. Smaller communities in the district included the towns of Lanigan, Allan, Colonsay, Aberdeen, Clavet, and Bruno; and the villages of Vonda, Viscount, Muenster, and Meacham. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting.
