Arkansas Highway 463
Highway 463 (AR 463, Ark. 463 and Hwy. 463) is a north–south state highway in northeast Arkansas. The route of runs from Highway 14 very near I-555 at Payneway north to I-555/ US 63B in Jonesboro. The route is a redesignation of former U.S. Route 63, which has since been rerouted onto US 49. Route description The route begins at a T intersection with Highway 14 at the unincorporated community of Payneway west of I-555. Highway 463 runs along a range line north to intersect Highway 214 before crossing the freeway and entering Trumann. Highway 463 intersects Highway 69S before passing the Maxie Theatre on the National Register of Historic Places. Further north, AR 463 has junctions with AR 198, AR 69, and AR 214 before exiting Trumann and entering Craighead County. Maxie Theatre
The Maxie Theatre was a historic movie theatre at 136 Arkansas Highway 463 South in Trumann, Arkansas. It is a single-screen theatre, housed in a large Art Deco structure built in 1948-9 by Zell Jaynes. At the time of its opening it featured the latest in amenities, including air conditioning, upholstered seats, and a fancy curtain to cover the screen. It also had a purpose-built segregated seating area for African-American in the balcony, with separate entrance, ticketing, and concession facilities. Until its closure in 2012 the theatre was one of oldest continuously-operating businesses in Trumann and was the town's only theatre. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, and was delisted in 2020. Highway 163 (AR 163, Ark. 163, and Hwy. 163) is a north–south state highway in Northeast Arkansas. The highway begins at Wittsburg and runs northeast to Highway 1, Highway 1 Business (AR 1B) and Crowley's Ridge Parkway (CRP) in Jonesboro. A spur route runs in Jonesboro. All routes are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT). Almost all of the route is concurrent with Crowley's Ridge Parkway, with a portion also serving as an Arkansas Heritage Trail for its use during the Civil War.
