Arkansas 99
Highway 99 (originally State Road 99, abbreviated AR 99 and Hwy. 99) is a former north–south state highway in Arkansas. Created in 1926, the route connected several small communities in the northwest corner of the state near the Oklahoma border. The highway briefly overlapped with Oklahoma State Highway 20 (SH-20) along the state line, and the two routes briefly enter Oklahoma together. It was significantly shortened in the 1930s, and fully replaced by the Highway 43 designation in 1971. The route was maintained by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD), except where the designation entered Oklahoma, where it was maintained by the Oklahoma Department of Highways. Highway 45 (AR 45, Ark. 45, or Hwy. 45) is a designation for three state highways in northwest Arkansas. The southern segment of runs from Highway 96 north across US Route 71 (US 71) to Interstate 540/US 71 (I-540/US 71) in Fort Smith. Delaware County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 41,487. Its county seat is Jay. The county was named for the Delaware Indians, who had established a village in the area prior to the Cherokees being assigned to relocate to Indian Territory in the 1830s. Delaware County was created in 1907. Prior to becoming Delaware County, a large portion of the area was known as the Delaware District of the Cherokee Nation. Colcord, Oklahoma
Colcord is a town in southern Delaware County, Oklahoma, United States. The community lies in the northeastern part of the state in a region known as Green Country. The population was 815 at the 2010 census, a decline of 0.5 percent from the figure of 819 recorded in 2000. History Colcord's history starts decades before the establishment of the town itself, with the community of Row, Indian Territory, in the 1890s. As settlers moved to the area, the town of Row grew and businesses formed, including a bank, a school, a hotel, and others. A Post Office was established on May 20, 1905. Arkansas Highway 59 is a north–south state highway in Northwest Arkansas. The route runs from Arkansas Highway 22 in Barling north to the Missouri state line through Van Buren, the county seat of Crawford County. Highway 59 parallels US 59 (in Oklahoma) between Siloam Springs and Fort Smith. Since US 59 goes through Arkansas, AR 59 is the only Arkansas state highway to share its numbering with a federal highway that goes through Arkansas.
