Arjun Sapkota ( ne, अर्जुन सापकोटा; born 26 January 1999) is a Nepalese singer and songwriter, known for his music in Nepalese folk music industry . As of March 2023 Sapkota has given voice to more than 30 Songs "''Banki chari" , "Dui duna chaar" , "pachheuri lisyo" , "fulyo gurasha" , "Nagara pir maya"', "A thuli'' " including others are his few songs. Sapkota came to limelight after his 2019 Lok Dohori song ' ''"Banki chari banaima ramayo"'' with Devi Gharti Magar released on his own YouTube Channel . Early life Sapkota was born on 26 January 1999 to father Mani Sapkota and mother Durga Sapkota in Pelakot-Syangja district of Nepal. At the age of 5 Sapkota moved to Nawalparasi with his family where he started working at Radio Darpan as a radio jockey before jumping into musical field . Lok Dohori
Dohori ( or ), also known as Lok Dohori, is a type of Nepali folk song usually sung by two teams, one of men and another of women. It is in the form of question and answer where a team sings a question and the opponent replies through an equally lyrical impromptu couplet and vice versa. The term ''dohori'', means 'back and forth' and refers to the exchange of lyrical phrases between the contesting singers. The song production is collaborative and involves many individuals. Like all Nepali folk songs, dohori originated in the rural areas of Nepal and now is sung in both rural and urban settlements and is popular amongst the Nepali speaking diaspora in the UK, US, and Bahrain. Devi Gharti Magar ( ne, देवी घर्ती मगर) is Nepali folk singer. She was born in Ramuwa village of Baglung district Nepal. She married Raju Dhakal on 2008. She meet Dhakal on 2004 in Folk Duet program. She was elected as open central member of "Lok Dohori Pratisthan" (Folk Duet Academy) in 2019. Syangja District ( ne, स्याङ्जा जिल्ला; ), a part of Gandaki Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. Nawalparasi District ( ne, नवलपरासी जिल्ला, ), part of which belongs to Gandaki Province and part to Lumbini Province, was one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal before being divided into Nawalparasi (West of Bardaghat Susta) and Nawalparasi (East of Bardaghat Susta) in 2015.
