Arizona's 17th Legislative District is one of 30 in the state, situated in Maricopa County. As of 2021, there are 40 precincts in the district, with a total registered voter population of 163,279. Jeff Weninger
Jeff Weninger is an American politician and a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 17 from 2015 to 2023. Before serving in the legislature, Weninger served on the Chandler City Council for eight years and held the position of Vice Mayor. He was a candidate for State Treasurer of Arizona in the 2022 election, but lost the primary to incumbent Treasurer Kimberly Yee. Elections * 2014 – Weninger and J.D. Jennifer Pawlik
Jennifer Pawlik is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives representing District 13 since January 9, 2023. She previously represented District 17 from 2019 to 2023. Pawlik was elected in 2018 to succeed retiring State Representative J. D. Mesnard, who instead ran for State Senate. Pawlik defeated Mesnard's mother, Nora Ellen, in the general election on November 6, 2018. Pawlik graduated from Northern Arizona University, and was a teacher in the Chandler Unified School District Chandler Unified School District serves most of the city of Chandler, Arizona, plus portions of Gilbert, and Queen Creek. The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members.
