Krypton is a fictional planet appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, most commonly appearing or mentioning in stories starring the superhero Superman as the world he came from. The planet was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and was named after the chemical element krypton. The planet was first mentioned in ''Action Comics'' #1 (June 1938) and made its first appearance in Superman (comic book), ''Superman'' #1 (1939). Krypton is also the native world of Supergirl (Kara Zor-El), Supergirl, Krypto, Krypto the Superdog, Beppo (comics), Beppo the Super-Monkey, Power Girl (in her case, an alternate-universe version designated "Krypton-Two"), and the supervillain General Zod. It has been consistently described as having been destroyed shortly after Superman's escape from the planet, although the exact details of its destruction vary by time period and writers. Ivan Reis is a Brazilians, Brazilian comics artist. He is known for his work on comic books such as Dark Horse Comics' ''Ghost (Dark Horse Comics), Ghost'', Marvel Comics' ''Genis-Vell, Captain Marvel'' and ''Vision (Marvel Comics), Avengers Icons: The Vision'' and DC Comics' ''Action Comics'', ''Green Lantern (comic book), Green Lantern'' and ''Aquaman'' series. According to collaborator Geoff Johns, Reis's drawing style resembles those of Alan Davis and Neal Adams. Career For three years, Reis worked for Maurício de Sousa in Brazil. General Zod
General Zod is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly known as an List of Superman enemies, adversary of the superhero Superman. The character, who first appeared in ''Adventure Comics'' #283 (April 1961 in comics, 1961), was created by Robert Bernstein (comics), Robert Bernstein and initially designed by George Papp. As a Krypton (comics), Kryptonian, he exhibits the same powers and abilities as Superman and is consequently viewed as one of his greatest enemies alongside Lex Luthor, Darkseid and Brainiac (character), Brainiac.
