Argentina–Paraguay Border
The Argentina–Paraguay border is the line that limits the territories of Argentina and Paraguay. This boundary is solely defined by three major rivers: the Pilcomayo, Paraná and Paraguay, being one of the largest natural borders in the world. The capital of Paraguay, Asunción, lies on one of the banks of the Paraguay River, which borders Argentina. The capital of Argentina is Buenos Aires, which lies on one of the banks of the River Plate, made by major Paraguayan tributaries. Argentina is the country which Paraguay has the largest border with, being about 1,689 km long. It is Argentina's second largest border, after the Argentina–Chile border. Alberdi, Paraguay
Alberdi is the city in the Ñeembucú Department of Paraguay. It is south of the capital city, Asunción. Alberdi is located along the Paraguay River. Its name pays homage to the Argentine writer Juan Bautista Alberdi, who voiced his sympathy and support for Paraguay during the Paraguayan War. Most of the city is located in the part of the region of the Lake Ypoá, with rich ecology and beautiful landscapes, where there are many estuaries, streams and rivers that contribute to a cool and humid climate. San Roque González De Santa Cruz Bridge
The San Roque González de Santa Cruz Bridge is a long cable-stayed bridge that crosses the Paraná River between the cities of Posadas, capital of Misiones Province, Argentina and Encarnación, capital of Itapúa, Paraguay. The main bridge is long and the approaching viaduct is long. The bridge, named for the founder of the missions which evolved into both cities, was first projected in 1977 through an agreement between the governments of Argentina and Paraguay, as a compensation to Paraguay for the flooding of part of its territory by the Yacyretá Dam. Its construction began in 1981 and was planned to last three years, but was finished only in 1990. It was construct by a consortium leading by the Italian company Impregilo. Puerto Iguazú
Puerto Iguazú is a border city in the province of Misiones, Argentina. With a population of 82,227 (), it is the fourth largest city in the Province, after Posadas, Oberá, and Eldorado. The world-renowned Iguazú Falls are only away from the city, and as a result the city has developed much of its infrastructure around tourism. History Spanish explorer Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca became, in 1542, the first European to discover what are now called Iguazú Falls. Ayolas, Paraguay
Ayolas is a city in the department of Misiones, Paraguay, located at 310 km southeast of Asunción, on the banks of the Paraná River. It is, also, the name of the district within which the city is located. Toponymy The city takes its name on behalf of Juan de Ayolas, second of Pedro de Mendoza, who founded Puerto la Candelaria, now Fuerte Olimpo, on the Paraguay River.
