Ardeer Thistle F.C.
Ardeer Thistle Football Club are a Scottish football club from Stevenston in North Ayrshire. Formed as a Juvenile Club in 1900, they moved up to the Juniors in season 1902–03 and are based at Ardeer Stadium. Stevenston
Stevenston ( sco, Steenstoun, gd, Baile Steaphain) is a town and parish in North Ayrshire, Scotland. Along with Ardrossan and Saltcoats it is one of the "Three Towns", all of similar size, on the Firth of Clyde coast; the easternmost parts of Stevenston are about from western parts of Kilwinning, with the A78 trunk road running between the settlements (this is a 2004 bypass, with traffic between Irvine, Largs and Greenock previously directed through the centre of the three towns). History The town is named after Stephan Loccard or Lockhart, whose father obtained a grant of land from Richard de Morville, Lord of Cunninghame and Constable of Scotland, around 1170. North Ayrshire ( gd, Siorrachd Àir a Tuath, ) is one of 32 council areas in Scotland. The Scottish Junior Football Ayrshire Division One (also known as the Ayrshire District League) was the third-tier division of the West Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association. The two highest-placed teams at the end of the season were promoted to the Super League First Division. Ayrshire Junior Football League
The Ayrshire Junior Football League, known as the Western Junior League from 1919 until 1968, was a football league competition operated in Ayrshire under the Scottish Junior Football Association which operated until a merger in 2002. The league was formed in the aftermath of World War I, primarily from clubs in the territory which today is North Ayrshire that had participated in smaller leagues such as the ''Irvine & District'' competition. After only a few years of operation, the Western clubs became embroiled in the Intermediate dispute relating to compensation payments due to clubs joining Scottish Football League teams, and along with the larger and more powerful Glasgow Junior Football League, broke away from the SJFA and its flagship tournament, the Scottish Junior Cup in 1927 to form a rival Intermediate Association, although still playing in a separate division from the Glasgow clubs. Andy Auld
Andrew Auld (April 30, 1900December 6, 1977) was a Scottish-American soccer player who spent most of his professional career in the American Soccer League as a midfielder and forward. He earned five caps with the United States national team, three coming in the 1930 FIFA World Cup. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986. Early career Auld began his organized soccer career with Scottish club Stevenston F.C. in 1911, when he was eleven years old. He stayed with the club until he entered the military. His service continued through World War I and Auld was not discharged until 1919. When he left the military, he joined Ardeer Thistle in 1919. He remained with the club for three years, until he moved to Glasgow club Parkhead F.C. in 1921. In 1923, he immigrated to the United States to live in Gillespie, Illinois. Alessandro "Alex" Zarrelli (5 September 1984 – 21 November 2018) was an Italian amateur footballer who featured on a 2006 Sky TV documentary called ''Super Fakes'' in the United Kingdom where he had attempted to dupe several professional football teams into signing him as a player by sending faxes claiming to be a member of the Italian Football Federation. A midfielder, he later played semi-professionally for a number of British non-League clubs, most notably Northwich Victoria and Queen's Park. He died on 21 November 2018 after a car crash on the A505 road in Cambridgeshire. Ross Cameron Stewart (born 11 July 1996) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a striker for EFL Championship club Southampton and the Scotland national football team.
