Ardara, Sardinia
Ardara ( sc, Àldara) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about north of Cagliari and about southeast of Sassari. It was one of the capitals of Giudicato di Torres. The village houses the ruins of the Castle of the Giudicato of Torres (11th century), the medieval walls, and the Romanesque Basilica of Santa Maria del Regno. Ardara borders the municipalities of Chiaramonti, Mores, Ozieri, Ploaghe and Siligo. Ozieri
Ozieri ( sc, Otieri) is a town and ''comune'' of approximatively 11,000 inhabitants in the province of Sassari, northern Sardinia (Italy), in the Logudoro historical region. Its cathedral of the Immacolata is the episcopal see of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ozieri. Ozieri is the centre of the earliest known archaeological culture on Sardinia (known as Ozieri culture). Pirates Of The Sea
Pirates of the Sea is a musical project that in May 2008 represented Latvia in Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia with their song " Wolves of the Sea". It consists of three members: Italian singer Roberto Meloni who is living in Latvia, dancer Aleksandra Kurusova as well as the TV and radio person Jānis Vaišļa. Meloni also represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 as a part of Bonaparti.lv. The song "Wolves of the Sea" was written by four Swedish composers: Jonas Liberg, Johan Sahlen, Claes Andreasson and Torbjörn Wassenius. On February 2, Pirates won the first semi-final of the national finals, getting 12 010 televotes - the best result of both semi-finals. However, the jury put them in ninth place from 10 songs of the first semi-final. On March 1, Pirates of the Sea also won the national final, which took place in Ventspils. The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Molitva" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. The three live shows were presented by Serbian television presenter Jovana Janković and musician Željko Joksimović. Forty-three countries participated in the contest, the highest ever number of participants in the contest beating the record of forty-two set the year before.
