Arco De Belén, Havana
The Arco de Belén was built by Pedro Medina in 1775 and was part of the Convent and Church of Nuestra Señora de Belén located on Calle Acosta in Havana. It is a short tunnel that characterizes the location. The old Convent of Nuestra Señora de Belén is the first baroque building in Old Havana. It was completed in 1718 and directed by the Order of Bethlemites. The Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, moved from Havana to Miami after Fidel coup, was created in the mid 19th century in the facilities of the Convent of Belén of Havana. Currently it houses a residence for the elderly financed by the Office of the Historian of Old Havana. Bethlemites
Bethlehemites, or Bethlemites, is the name of five Catholic religious orders. Two of them were restored to existence in the 20th century. The other three are extinct. 12th-century order in Bethlehem and Italy This order was founded in Bethlehem and managed a seminary there, until the Christian expulsion from the Holy Land. Royal Shipyard Of Havana
The Royal Arsenal of Havana was located South East of the Campo de Marte and played a prominent role in Spanish shipbuilding in the 18th century. In total, seventy-four warships were built in Havana during this century. According to the UNESCO, Havana Royal Shipyard in the 18th century developed the most complete dockyard in the New World. Location The Royal Arsenal was located southeast of the Campo de Marte, outside the southernmost gate of the city in the area presently occupied by the Havana Central railway station. The Colegio de Belén is a Private school, private religious school in Marianao, Havana, located between 45th and 66th streets, next to the Tropicana Club, Tropicana nightclub. It was designed in 1925 by the architect Leonardo Morales y Pedroso and his brother, an engineer, Luis Morales y Pedroso of the firm Morales y Compañía Arquitectos.
