Archibald Gemmell
Archibald B. "Archie" Gemmell (September 26, 1869 – January 1, 1945) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Turtleford in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1917 to 1929 as a Liberal. He was born in Richmond, Ontario, the son of Robert Gemmell and Christina McFarlane, and was educated there. In 1905, Gemmell married Mabel K. Stewart in Manitoba; he had previously been married to Dorcas McFarlane in Ontario. They settled in Saskatchewan; the village was later named Mervin after Gemmell's son from his first marriage. He was a justice of the peace and served as the first postmaster for Mervin, Saskatchewan. Gemmell retired from politics in 1929 due to a heart condition. Turtleford (electoral District)
Turtleford was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, centered on the town of Turtleford. Created before the 4th Saskatchewan general election in 1917, this constituency was dissolved and combined with the Cut Knife district (as " Battleford-Cut Knife") before the 23rd Saskatchewan general election in 1995. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The Saskatchewan Liberal Party is a liberal political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The party was the provincial affiliate of the Liberal Party of Canada until 2009. A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw.
