Archery At The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics – Girls' Individual
The girls' individual archery event at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 22 to 25 August 2014 at the Fangshan Sports Training Base in Nanjing, China. One of three recurve archery events which comprised the archery programme, it was the second time the girls' individual discipline was contested at Summer Youth Olympics. Thirty-two archers from thirty-two countries entered the competition, which was open to female archers born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 1999. The defending champion was South Korea's Kwak Ye-ji, who was unable to defend her title due to the age limitations imposed on the event. Li Jiaman of China defeated France's Melanie Gaubil in a one-arrow shoot-off in the final to win the gold medal. As runner-up Gaubil received the silver medal. South Korea's Lee Eun-gyeong, who was seeded first and set a new junior world record in the 72-arrow round, defeated Ana Machado of Brazil to win the bronze medal. Li Jiaman
Li Jiaman (born 18 August 1997) is a Chinese archer, who participated in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. She was the sole representative of the host-country China in the archery competition. She won a gold medal with Filipino Luis Gabriel Moreno at the Youth Olympics at the mixed international team archery event. After the mixed international team event, Li won the girls' individual event gold medal round on a shoot-out against Melanie Gaubil of France. Target archery is the most popular form of archery, in which members shoot at stationary circular targets at varying distances. All types of bow – longbow, barebow, recurve and compound – can be used. Bryony Pitman (born 13 March 1997) is a British archer competing in women's recurve events. She won the gold medal in the women's recurve team event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus. Earlier in 2019, she won the bronze medal in the women's team recurve event at the World Archery Championships held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. In 2014, Pitman competed in the girls' individual and mixed team events at the Summer Youth Olympics held in Nanjing, China. In the individual event, she finished in 14th place in the ranking rounds. Bianca Gotuaco
Bianca Gotuaco (born 22 July 1997) is a Filipino recurve archer. She is currently studying at Columbia University and is a member of the university's archery team. Career Gotuaco started archery in 2006 and made her international debut in 2009 at the Youth World Archery Championships held in Odgen, competing in the individual cadet recurve event. Alicia Marín Martínez (born 17 April 1997 in Madrid) is a Spanish recurve archer. She has competed for Spain at the Summer Youth Olympics, World Archery Championships, the Archery World Cup, and the European Games, winning a bronze medal in the latter in 2015. Diananda Choirunisa (born 16 March 1997) is an Indonesian recurve archer. She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. Diananda Choirunisa still 20 years old when she started to become an Indonesian archery athlete in the 2017 SEA Games.
