Archery At The 2015 European Games
At the 2015 European Games in Baku, five events of archery were contested, all in the target archery format, with recurve bows. The events took place at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium over seven days of competition. The European Games format followed that of the Olympic Games with 64 men and 64 women competing in the recurve division, in individual and team events as well as in mixed team. Qualification A total of 128 athletes will compete at the Games. Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) is permitted to enter a maximum of six competitors, three per gender. NOCs that qualified teams for a particular gender were able to send a three-member team to the team event and also have each member compete in the individual event. Tofiq Bahramov Stadium
The Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium ( az, Tofiq Bəhramov adına Respublika Stadionu) is a multi-purpose stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It served as the home ground for the Azerbaijan national football team until they moved to the Baku Olympic Stadium. It holds 31,200 seats making it the second largest stadium in the country. The stadium is also used by the Azerbaijan Premier League clubs in the final rounds of European competitions. History The Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium was built in 1951. Its construction started before World War II in 1939, but was suspended. When its construction resumed, it was finished by German prisoners of war. Khatuna Narimanidze ( ka, ხათუნა ნარიმანიძე; born 2 February 1974) is an athlete from Georgia. She competes in archery. 2004 Summer Olympics Narimanidze represented Georgia at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She placed 41st in the women's individual ranking round with a 72-arrow score of 620. In the first round of elimination, she faced 24th-ranked Almudena Gallardo of Spain. Narimanidze lost 148-132 in the 18-arrow match, placing 51st overall in women's individual archery. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Narimanidze finished her ranking round with a total of 663 points. This gave her the 4th seed (the first non South Korean) for the final competition bracket in which she faced Dorji Dema in the first round, beating the archer from Bhutan with 107-97.
