The New Laos National Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Vientiane, Laos that was built in 2009. It is used mostly for football matches. Cheng Chu Sian (; born 1 March 1986 in Kuala Lumpur) is an athlete from Malaysia, who competes in archery. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Cheng finished his ranking round with a total of 660 points. This gave him the 26th seed for the final competition bracket in which he faced Matthew Gray of Australia in the first round, 109-101. With a win over Matti Hatava of Finland (110-103) he qualified for the third round and there he faced Lee Chang-Hwan of South Korea. Both archers scored 105 points in the regular match and had to go to an extra round. Here Cheng advanced with 19 points, while Lee hit 18 points. In the quarter finals Cheng was unable to beat Bair Badënov of Russia (109-104). Badënov went on to win the bronze medal. Ika Yuliana Rochmawati (born 2 July 1989) is an Indonesian archer. She competed in the individual recurve event at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics with the best result of ninth place in 2012. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Rochmawati finished her ranking round with a total of 621 points. This gave her the 41st seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Jennifer Nichols in the first round. Jennifer Dy Chan
Jennifer Dy Chan (born January 16, 1965) is a Filipino archer who has competed for the Philippines at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She is a resident of Dumaguete. Education Chan attended the Silliman University where she obtained a bachelor's degree in general science. Career Silliman University physical education instructor and Philippine national archery coach, Dionisio Flores encouraged Chan to take up archery. Before then, Chan was more into basketball and tennis but was convinced since she was told that archery is a sport she could play by herself. Chan trained for eight months before participating at the National Open which gave her a chance to compete in the Southeast Asian Games. Archery is a Southeast Asian Games event and has been one of the sports held at the Games since the 1977 edition in Kuala Lumpur. Summary Competition From 1977 to 1987, archery awarded a total of 12 gold medals, with each distance awarded an individual medal together with the overall individual and team award. The competition was based on the Single FITA round. From 1979 to 1991, the Double FITA format was used. From 1989, the gold medals awarded were reduced to 4, with one each for men's individual, men's team, women's individual and women's team event. From 2005, the compound archery event was introduced, increasing the number of medals to 8. From 2011, the mixed team event was introduced. The current format of individual elimination rounds only allows the top two archers from each nation to enter.
