Arcenciel
Arcenciel (stylised as arcenciel), is a Lebanese non-profit, apolitical and non-confessional NGO created in response to the Lebanese civil war in 1985. It participates in sustainable development and was recognized as a public utility in 1995 by the Lebanese Presidential Decree N⁰7541. Arcenciel’s main goal is to work with and support people living with disabilities or other physical and psychological difficulties. In 1994, arcenciel created the division “Acces et Droit” ('Rights and Access') within the Ministry of Social Affairs It does that within the framework of 5 core programs, each designed to help Arcenciel to actively participate in Lebanon’s sustainable development. Al-Monitor ( ar, المونيتور) is a news website launched in February 2012 by the Arab American entrepreneur Jamal Daniel and based in Washington, DC, United States. Al-Monitor provides reporting and analysis from and about the Middle East. Deutschlandfunk (DLF, ''Broadcast Germany'') is a public-broadcasting radio station in Germany, concentrating on news and current affairs. It is one of the four national radio channels produced by Deutschlandradio. History Broadcasting in the Federal Republic of Germany is reserved under the Basic Law (constitution) to the states. The Lebanese Civil War ( ar, الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية, translit=Al-Ḥarb al-Ahliyyah al-Libnāniyyah) was a multifaceted armed conflict that took place from 1975 to 1990. It resulted in an estimated 120,000 fatalities and an exodus of almost one million people from Lebanon. Taanayel ( ar, تعنايل), also transliterated Tanayal, is a village located in the Zahlé District of the Beqaa Governorate in Lebanon. History In 1838, Eli Smith noted ''Tha'nayil'' as a Sunni Muslim village in the Beqaa Valley. In 1982, Taanayel suffered heavy damages from aerial bombardments. In October 1985, war planes of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) dropped bombs and fired rockets on a target near Tanayel on the Beirut-Damascus highway.
