Arcangelo Ianelli
Arcangelo Ianelli (July 18, 1922 in São Paulo – May 26, 2009) was a painter, sculptor and illustrator from Brazil, who was involved with an artistic group called Grupo Guanabara, along with Manabu Mabe (1924–1997), Yoshiya Takaoka (1909–1978) and Tikashi Fukushima (1920–2001). His brother, Tomás Ianelli, was also a painter. He was the father of the painter Rubens Ianelli and grandfather of the poet Mariana Ianelli. Manabu Mabe
(September 14, 1924 – September 22, 1997) was a Japanese- Brazilian painter. Mabe worked as a vendor of hand-painted ties in São Paulo before becoming a famous artist. In the late 1950s, Mabe won the top award in São Paulo's Contemporary Art Salon, the top award as Brazil's best painter in the São Paulo Bienal, and the top honors for artists under 35 at Paris's first biennial. On January 30, 1979, after an exhibition in Tokyo, 53 of his paintings were on board a Varig cargo Boeing 707-323C en route from Tokyo - Narita to Rio de Janeiro-Galeão via Los Angeles. The aircraft (and the paintings) went missing over the Pacific Ocean some 30 minutes (200 km ENE) from Tokyo. Tikashi Fukushima (Sōma, Fukushima, Sōma, January 19, 1920 - São Paulo, October 14, 2001) was a Japanese Brazilians, Japanese-Brazilian Painting, painter and Printmaking, printmaker. Considered one of the most important Abstract art, abstractionists in Brazil, Fukushima also produced several works in the field of Figurative art, figurativism throughout his career. Sir Peter Paul Rubens (; ; 28 June 1577 – 30 May 1640) was a Flemish artist and diplomat from the Duchy of Brabant in the Southern Netherlands (modern-day Belgium). He is considered the most influential artist of the Flemish Baroque tradition. Rubens's highly charged compositions reference erudite aspects of classical and Christian history.
