Arcadea is an American synth-metal supergroup from Atlanta, formed in 2015 by Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor, Zruda guitarist Core Atoms, and guitarist Raheem Amlani. Arcadea's self-titled album was released in June 2017 via Relapse Records. History Arcadea was founded in 2015, by upside-down guitarist Core Atoms and drummer Brann Dailor in Atlanta, Georgia. With the addition of guitarist Raheem Amlani, the three-piece began recording tracks at Amlani's Orange Peel Studios in Atlanta in 2015. The result was an 11-song album which was released on Relapse Records on June 16, 2017. Brann Dailor
Brann Timothy Dailor (born March 19, 1975) is an American musician, best known as a member of heavy metal band Mastodon, in which he is the drummer and one of three vocalists. Career Dailor first started playing in a band called Evisceration from 1991 to 1993, when the band broke up. Dailor was also a founding member of mathcore band Lethargy, and the progressive rock/funk metal band Gaylord and played with Today Is the Day. In 2015, Dailor announced his side project called Arcadea. The group features Dailor on drums alongside Atlanta musicians Core Atoms and Raheem Amlani. Dailor, Bill Kelliher, and Brent Hinds portrayed "wildlings" on S05E08 episode of ''Game of Thrones'', which was filmed in Belfast in Northern Ireland. Gaylord was an American rock band active from late 1995 until 2010. History Gaylord was founded in 1995 in Rochester, New York, by guitarist/ singer/songwriter Core Atoms ( Arcadea, Zruda) and bassist/singer/songwriter Jeff Steverson. In 1996, Gaylord released their first recording ''Sparkling Cool'', following the addition of drummer Brann Dailor.Lamb, Gordon "Gaylord: Not as Popular as Beethoven", ''Flagpole'', Athens: Georgia, July 16, 2008, vol.22 no. 28, p. 22. Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August, 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. After this, Jacobson became acquainted with William Yurkiewicz Jr., who became his partner in the record label. Yurkiewicz had founded his own record label, which was soon to release albums from the bands General Surgery, Disrupt, Destroy, Misery, and Yurkiewicz's own band Exit-13.
