The Swedish Public Employment Service ( sv, Arbetsförmedlingen) is a Swedish government agency organized under the Ministry of Employment mainly responsible for the public employment service in Sweden and the implementation of labour market policies. The agency should help facilitate meetings and bring together employers with job seekers, especially those who are long-term unemployed and have particular difficulties in finding work. In addition, the agency should work to increase employment in the long term. This is primarily done by giving active support to companies in the recruitment process, facilitating meetings at the premises of the Swedish Public Employment Service and the use of a searchable, gratis vacancy database ( sv, Platsbanken). Social Audit
The first Social Audit was carried out in Sweden (1985–88) by John Fry and Ulla Ressner, worklife researchers at the Centre for Swedish Working Life (Arbetslivscentrum) and published in Sweden in 1988 by Allmäna Förlaget, Stockholm (332 pp) under the title "Social Revision av ett Ämbetsverk". It was the result of a three-year study of Sweden's central bureaucracy - The National Labour Market Board (Arbetsförmedlingen). The study was based on interviews and questionnaires with over 1,000 employees at all levels of the organisation throughout the country and became the subject of debate in the Swedish Riksdag (Parliament). The Swedish Public Freedom Service or in Swedish:''Frihetsförmedlingen'' is an art project that considers itself a "self-organising authority", running since 2014 by the artists Lars Noväng and John Huntington. Frihetsförmedlingen claims to be Sweden's largest provider of freedom. The website is a clear paraphrase of the Swedish Public Employment Service. According to Noväng, the Freedom Service reflects the approach to work: freedom must be provided at all costs, without any reflection on why this should be so.
