Apostolic Prefecture Of Sulu
The Apostolic Vicariate of Jolo is a Latin Catholic missionary pre-diocesan jurisdiction covering the Sulu and Tawi-Tawi provinces in southern Philippines. It is directly exempt to the Holy See, specifically Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and not part of any ecclesiastical province, yet for the purpose of apostolic cooperation sometimes grouped with the Archdiocese of Zamboanga. Its cathedral episcopal see is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in Jolo, Sulu, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Valpuesta (Latin ''Valliposita'' or ''Valle Conposita'') was a Catholic diocese in Castile in northern Spain. Today it is a titular see. Angelito Rendon Lampon (born 1 March 1950) is a Philippine prelate of the Catholic Church who has been the Archbishop of Cotabato since 2019. He was Apostolic Vicar of Jolo from 1997 to 2018. Biography He was born on 1 March 1950 in M'Lang, Cotabato. He studied in local schools until 1962 and then at the novitiate in Tamontaka for four years. He studied philosophy at Ateneo de Manila University in 1968–69 and theology first in Quezon City in 1969–71 and then at the Loyola School of Theology from 1972 to 1977. He was ordained a priest there on 26 March 1977 as a member of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) on March 26, 1977. He was a parish priest in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat and at the Cathedral of Cotabato (1977-1978). He then worked as a staff member of the Notre Dame Archdiocesan Seminary (1979-1981). Benjamin David de Jesus, OMI (25 July 1940 – 4 February 1997) was a Philippine prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the Apostolic Vicar of Jolo from 1992 until his murder in 1997. He was the first Filipino bishop to be assassinated in the history of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines. Biography Benjamin David de Jesus was born in the Hulong Duhat district of Malabon, Rizal (now part of Metro Manila) on 25 July 1940. He was ordained a priest as a member of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate on 29 December 1967. On 11 October 1991, Pope John Paul II named him titular bishop of Bladia and Apostolic Vicar of Jolo. Caudium
Caudium (modern Montesarchio) was the main city of the ancient Caudini tribe in Samnium situated on the Appian Way between Beneventum (modern Benevento) and Capua, in what is now southern Italy. It was 21 Roman miles from Capua, and 11 from Beneventum. It, or nearby Arpaia, became the seat of an early bishopric, which is now a Latin Catholic titular see. History In early times it was an important site, either the capital or chief city of the Caudini. Grave goods, found in the necropolis nearby, show that the site was inhabited from the 8th to the 3rd centuries.
