Ashtown, Dublin
Ashtown () is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is also a townland in the civil parish of Castleknock and falls largely into the postal districts of Dublin 15, with some addresses falling into the Dublin 7 postal district. Ashtown is bounded roughly by the townlands of Castleknock to the west. It is situated by the Royal Canal, near the Navan Road, which some addresses being named off Navan Road. The Phoenix Park is also nearby, its Ashtown Gate entrance about 500 metres south of the railway station. The townland's 278 acres are within Dublin City whereas Castleknock is in Fingal. Luciano Storero (26 September 1926 – 1 October 2000) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Luciano Storero was born in Pinasca, Italy, on 26 September 1926. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1949. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1951. He joined the diplomatic service in 1953 and his early assignments took him to Egypt, Japan, and Ireland. On 25 November 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him Titular Archbishop of Tigimma and Apostolic Delegate to Ceylon. Emanuele Gerada
Emanuele Gerada KC*HS (18 May 1920 – 21 January 2011) was a Maltese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, a Vatican diplomat and titular Archbishop of Nomentum. One Maltese obituary recalled him as "a generous, well-read and intelligent man." Biography Gerada was born in Malta and ordained a priest on 1 August 1943 for the Archdiocese of Malta. He studied in Rome for a doctorate in canon law and joined the Vatican's diplomatic service, in which he served for most of his career. He was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Malta (then to Coadjutor Archbishop in 1968) and titular Bishop of Nomentum on 15 February 1967 and was consecrated on 18 June 1967. Joseph Francis McGeough (29 August 1903 – 12 October 1970) was an American prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Joseph McGeough was born on 29 August 1903 in New York City. He studied at the seminaries of the Archdiocese of New York and at the North American College in Rome. Giuseppe Maria Sensi (27 May 1907 – 26 July 2001) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as a longtime Vatican diplomat. Biography Sensi was born in Cosenza, Italy, on 27 May 1907, the sixth of ten children of a prominent local politician. He was ordained a priest in December 1929 at the age of 22. Antonio Riberi
Antonio Riberi (15 June 1897 – 16 December 1967) was a Monegasque prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the fifth apostolic nuncio to Ireland and later as the nuncio to Spain from 1962 until his death. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 1967. Gerald Patrick Aloysius O'Hara (May 4, 1895 – July 16, 1963) was an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Ettore Felici (4 March 1881, Segni – 9 May 1951) was the second Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland. Early life Born in Segni on 4 March 1881, Felici was ordained priest in 1903, he began his diplomatic career as a minor official at the Apostolic Nunciature to Serbia in Belgrade. Here he assumed much greater responsibility after Serbia was plunged into war in 1914. As a majority Serbian Orthodox Church at war with Catholic Austria relations were often tense.
