Apollinary Goravsky
Apolinary Horawski, also seen as Gorawski (Belarusian: Апалінарый Гіляравіч Гараўскі, Russian: Аполлинарий Гиляриевич Горавский; 23 January 1833 – 28 March 1900) was a Belarusian-born Polish painter active mainly in St. Petersburg. Biography Apalinar (Apollinary) was born into an impoverished family of the Belarusian landed gentry. His parents were Guilyar Frantsevich and Maryanna Yakauleuna Garausky. The family used the coat of arms "Korab" (since the 17th century) and traced its bloodline to the Belarusian nobleman Grakala-Garausky (in the 19th century the first part of the surname Grakala fell into disuse). The artist's father Guilyar Garausky inherited the land (about 200 ha) from his father and grandfather. Apolinary Hartglas
Maksymilian Apolinary Hartglas (7 April 1883 – 7 March 1953) was a Zionist activist and one of the main political leaders of Polish Jews during the interwar period, a lawyer, a publicist, and a Sejm deputy from 1919 to 1930. Biography Maksymilian Apolinary Hartglas was born into a lawyer family from Podlasie. Between 1892 and 1900 he attended a secondary school in Biała Podlaska. Apollinaire De Kontski
Apollinaire de Kontski (2 July 182429 June 1879) was a Polish violinist, teacher, and composer. He was born in Warsaw (some sources say incorrectly Kraków) as Apolinary Kątski, the youngest of five musical siblings who all used the name ''de Kontski'' professionally, and the only one who was not a pianist.Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 5th ed, 1954, Vol. IV, p. 821 Their father tried to have them all recognised as "wunderkinder". Apolinary Stanisław Kotowicz (24 March 1859 – 21 April 1917) was a Polish painter of landscapes, portraits and genre scenes. He was also a set decorator and amateur photographer. Biography Kotowicz was born on 24 March 1859 in Biecz. His father, Antoni Kotowicz (1816-1885) was a medical doctor and naturalist from Lwów. He began his education in Tarnów. Apolinary Szeluto
Apolinary Szeluto (23 July 1884 – 22 August 1966) was a Polish pianist and composer of the Mloda Polska style. Life and career Apolinary Szeluto was born in St. Petersburg, and began the study of piano at age nine. He studied music at the Saratov Conservatory with Stanislav Echsner, composition at the Warsaw Conservatory from 1902 to 1905 with Roman Statkowski and Zygmunt Noskowski, and piano performance in Berlin from 1905 to 1908 with Leopold Godowsky. He also completed studies in law at the University of Dorpat. After completing his education, he worked as a concert pianist, actively performing from 1909 until 1931. In 1909 Szeluto took a position as a professor at the Berlin Conservatory, and later relocated to work as a judge near Astrachan, Russia. Apollinary Vasnetsov
Apollinary Mikhaylovich Vasnetsov (russian: Аполлина́рий Миха́йлович Васнецо́в; August 6, 1856 – January 23, 1933) was a Russian painter and graphic artist whose elder brother was the more famous Viktor Vasnetsov. He specialized in scenes from the medieval history of Moscow. Vasnetsov did not receive a formal artistic education. He had studied under his older brother, Viktor Vasnetsov, the famous Russian painter. From 1883, he along with his brother lived and worked in Abramtsevo where he fell under the influence of Vasily Polenov. In 1898–1899, he travelled across Europe. In addition to epic landscapes of Russian nature, Apollinary Vasnetsov created his own genre of historical landscape reconstruction on the basis of historical and archaeological data.
