Aparejadores Rugby Club is a Spanish rugby team based in Burgos which competes in the División de Honor de Rugby. History The club was founded in 2006 after the merging of ''Burgos Rugby Club'' and ''Aparejadores Rugby Club'', the team of the Technical Architecture School of the University of Burgos. "Aparejadores" is literally "building engineers" or "technical surveyors". In January 2014, the club was promoted for the first time to División de Honor B de Rugby División de Honor B is the second level of Spanish league competition for rugby union clubs. The league began in 1998 and consists of three groups (North, East and South) of 8 or 9 teams each. The 2015–16 División de Honor B, the XVIII edition since its inception in 1998, began on September 19, 2015 with the first matchday of regular season and will run through 29 May with the Promotion playoffs Final. For 2015–16 season, championship comprises 3 groups of 12 teams each. Competition format The season comprises Main stage or regular season and Promotion playoff. The regular season runs through 22 matchdays. Upon completion the regular season, the two top teams of each group and two-best 3rd placed teams qualify for promotion playoff. The 2018–19 División de Honor was the 52nd season of the top flight of the Spanish domestic rugby union competition since its inception in 1953. The championship playoffs began in May finishing with the Final on 28 May. Valladolid won its third consecutive title, its ninth overall, after defeating local arch-rivals SilverStorm El Salvador in the Final. Competition format The División de Honor season takes place between September and March, with every team playing each other home and away for a total of 22 matches. The 2014–15 División de Honor B, the XVII edition, began on September 13, 2014 with the first matchday of regular season and finished on May 23, 2015 with the Promotion playoffs final. For 2014–15 season, the championship expands to 3 groups of 10/12 teams each. Alcobendas Rugby won the promotion playoff to Sant Cugat 18–13 and returned to División de Honor three years after of relegation. Competition format The season comprises Main stage or regular season, 2nd stage and Final. The regular season runs through 22 matchdays (groups A and C) and 18 matchdays (Group B).
