Anwar Hared
Anwar Hared (born November 17, 1996) is a Somali-Canadian ice hockey and bandy player. He played in the 2014 Bandy World Championship and scored the first ever goal for Somalia team, scoring in total two goals. Hared was also included in the Somalia team which competes at the 2015 Bandy World Championship in Khabarovsk. Somalia lost the first game, to the Netherlands, 0–18. However, being interviewed after the game, he mentioned that he was disappointed with the result, but the game itself was pleasant. He scored a goal in the game against China, becoming the only Somali player to score in two World Championships. Hared immigrated with his family to Canada and lived there for more than 15 years. Borlänge
Borlänge is a locality in Dalarna County, Sweden with 44,898 inhabitants as of 2020. It is the seat of the Borlänge Municipality with a total population of 51,604 inhabitants as of 2017. History Originally Borlänge was the name of a tiny village, and the first historical information about it is from 1390. The village was insignificant up until about 1870. Somalia National Bandy Team
Somalia national bandy team represents Somalia in the Bandy World Championship. It is controlled by the Somali National Bandy Association, which is a member of the Federation of International Bandy. The squad participated in the 2014 Bandy World Championship in Irkutsk, Russia, the first team from Africa to take part in bandy competitions. They participated in all following tournaments as well, consistently taking the last position. Background All selected players, except an ice hockey player living in Canada, are Somali nationals who live in the Sweden, Swedish town of Borlänge and play for the local club Borlänge Bandy (Borlänge-Stora Tuna BK, later renamed Peace & Love City).
