Anuj Kumar
Anuj Kumar Chaudhary (born 5 August 1980; also known as Anuj Chaudhry) is a retired amateur Indian freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's light heavyweight category. He achieved top ten finishes in the 74-kg division at the Asian Games (2002 and 2006), scored two silver medals at the Commonwealth Games (2002 and 2010) and two bronze at the Asian Wrestling Championships, and also represented his nation India at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Before his sporting career ended in 2010, Kumar trained at Guru Hanuman#Guru Hanuman Akhara (Birla Mills Vyayamshala), Guru Hanuman Akhara. Kumar reached sporting headlines at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England, where he claimed a silver medal in the 84-kg division, losing out to Canada's Nicholas Ugoalah by a tough 4–1 verdict. Guru Hanuman
Guru Hanuman actual name Vijay Pal Yadav (1901–1999) was a legendary wrestling coach of India who coached many medal-winning wrestlers. He was awarded the prestigious Dronacharya Award in 1987, the highest recognition for a sports coach in India, and the Padma Shri in 1983. Early life Guru was born as Vijay Pal Yadav on 15 March 1901, in the Chirawa town of Rajasthan state. He did not attend school, but began wrestling at the local village akhada from an early age. He moved to Delhi in 1919 to set up a shop near Birla Mills in Subzi Mundi, but instead became a wrestler and soon gained popularity in the field. Career The Indian industrialist K. K. Hidekazu Yokoyama
is a retired amateur Japanese freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's light heavyweight category. He won two bronze medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman at the Asian Games (1994 and 1998), and then represented his nation Japan in two editions of the Olympic Games (1996 and 2004). Having worked as a physical education teacher at Akita Commercial High School, Yokoyama also trained as part of the school's wrestling squad under his personal coach Katsuhiko Saito. When Japan hosted the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, Yokoyama enchanted the home crowd inside Higashi Stadium by defeating South Korea's Yang Hyun-Mo for a bronze medal in the 82-kg division.
