António Da Conceição
António da Conceição (born 8 October 1964), also known by his ''nom de guerre'' (), is an East Timorese politician, and a member of the Democratic Party (PD). He has held several Ministries in the government, and as of 2021 was a Member of the National Parliament. Early life and career Conceição was born in , Liquiçá, Portuguese Timor (now East Timor). He went to elementary school at the Children's College of Sagres ( pt, Colégio Infantil de Sagres) in Maliana until 1975. Then, after a short break, he attended the Seminary of Our Lady of Fatima ( pt, Seminário Menor de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, link=no) in Dare, Dili, and St Joseph's High School ( pt, Colégio de São José, link=no) in , Dili. From 1987 to 1991, he studied philosophy and theology in Malang, Indonesia. Liquiçá Municipality
Liquiçá (, ) is one of the municipalities (formerly districts) of East Timor. Its capital is also called Liquiçá. Etymology The English language name of the municipality has been said to be a Portuguese approximation of the old name ''Liku Saen'', which means 'python' in the local Tokodede language, or the corresponding portmanteau ''Likusaen''. Another theory points to the Tokodede expression ''Likis Aá'', meaning 'motion' or 'change', referring to an incident during the founding of the city of Vila de Liquiçá. After the Portuguese had chosen the settlement site, people started clearing the forest there and turning it into an open space. The Portuguese then asked the local people to tell them the name of the area. The local people did not understand the question, and so the Portuguese tried to communicate with gestures by moving their hands back and forth. Timor Leste Defence Force
The Timor Leste Defence Force ( tet, Forcas Defesa Timor Lorosae, pt, Forças de Defesa de Timor Leste or Falintil-FDTL, often F-FDTL) is the military body responsible for the defence of East Timor. The F-FDTL was established in February 2001 and comprises two infantry battalions, small naval and air components and several supporting units. The F-FDTL's primary role is to protect East Timor from external threats. It also has an internal security role, which overlaps with that of the Polícia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL). This overlap has led to tensions between the services, which have been exacerbated by poor morale and lack of discipline within the F-FDTL. The F-FDTL's problems came to a head in 2006 when almost half the force was dismissed following protests over discrimination and poor conditions. Taur Matan Ruak
José Maria Vasconcelos (born 10 October 1956), popularly known as Taur Matan Ruak (Tetum for "Two Sharp Eyes"), is an East Timorese politician who has served as the prime minister of East Timor since 22 June 2018. He was also President of East Timor from 20 May 2012 to 20 May 2017. Before entering politics, he was the Commander of the FALINTIL-''Forças de Defesa de Timor-Leste'' (F-FDTL), the military of East Timor, from 2002 until 6 October 2011.
