AntonÃn Kasper Jr.
AntonÃn Kasper (5 December 1962 – 31 July 2006) also known as Toni Kasper during his racing career, was a Czech motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in four Speedway World Championship finals and featured in four Speedway Grand Prix series. He earned 42 international caps for the Czechoslovakia national speedway team and 15 caps for the Czech Republic national speedway team. Career Kasper won the 1982 European Under-21 Championship at the Rottalstadion in Pocking, West Germany. He won the title, after finishing on 14 points. On 25 July 1998, he won the Continental Final, which formed part of the 1999 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification. Kasper rode in the United Kingdom for the Hackney Hawks from 1982 until their closure the following season at the end of 1983. He rode for Karlstad in Sweden in 1991. Speedway World Championship
The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official championships were held in 1936. Today, this official FIM championship is organised as a series of Speedway Grand Prix events, where points are awarded according to performance in the event and tallied up at the end of each season. However, up to 1994, it was run as a single-night event after qualifying rounds during the season, leading up to a big final of 20 heats, where points were awarded according to riders' heat placings and then tallied up at the end. Norden (East Frisian Low Saxon: ''Nörden'') is a town in the district of Aurich, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated near the North Sea shore, in East Frisia. 1983 Individual Speedway World Championship
The 1983 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 38th edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. It was the first time the World Final had been held in West Germany. Final summary An almost capacity crowd of around 50,000 at the long Motodrom Halbemond circuit, saw local favourite Egon Müller became the first German rider to win the World Championship. Australian Champion Billy Sanders, in career best form and always at his best on the longer tracks like those in his native Australia, scored his best ever World Championship placing by finishing second, with England's 1980 World Champion Michael Lee finishing third. Karlstad (, ) is the 20th-largest city in Sweden, the seat of Karlstad Municipality, the capital of Värmland County, and the largest city in the province Värmland in Sweden. 1999 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification
The 1999 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification or GP Challenge was a series of motorcycle speedway meetings used to determine the 14 riders that qualified for the 1999 Speedway Grand Prix to join the other 8 riders that finished in the leading positions from the 1998 Speedway Grand Prix. The format was similar to the previous year, in that 4 riders would qualify straight from the Intercontinental and Continental finals and 8 riders would qualify through the GP Challenge. The remaining two places would go to Billy Hamill and Robert Dados (world U21 champion) who were seeded through. Leigh Adams won the GP Challenge. The British Newspaper Archive web site provides access to searchable digitized archives of British and Irish newspapers. It was launched in November 2011. History The British Library Newspapers section was based in Colindale in north London, until 2013, and is now divided between the St Pancras and Boston Spa sites. The library has an almost complete collection of British and Irish newspapers since 1840. This is partly because of the legal deposit legislation of 1869, which required newspapers to supply a copy of each edition of a newspaper to the library. London editions of national daily and Sunday newspapers are complete back to 1801. Pocking
Pocking (; bar, label=Central Bavarian, Bocking) is a town in the district of Passau, in Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is situated about 30 km south-west of Passau, close to the Austrian border. History A Roman settlement was founded in the area of Pocking as early as the 1st century AD. The '' Bajuwaren tribe'' settled around Pocking in the 6th century AD. In 820 AD Pocking was first mentioned in a historic document. Since 1824 Pocking forms its own political community and in 1971 it was granted the privileges of a town.
