Antonio Ruiz de Montoya (13 June 1585, in Lima, Peru – 11 April 1652, in Lima, Peru) was a Jesuit priest and missionary in the Paraguayan Reductions. Life Montoya entered the Society of Jesus on 1 November 1606. In the same year, he accompanied Father Diego Torres, the first provincial of Paraguay, to this mission. In co-operation with Fathers Cataldino and Mazeta, he founded the Reductions of Guayra. He also brought a number of tribal groups into the Catholic Church, and is said to have personally baptized 100,000 Indians. As head of the missions from 1620 he had charge of the "Reductions" on the upper and middle course of the Paraná River, on the Uruguay River, and the Tape River, and added thirteen further " reductions" to the twenty-six already existing. Antonio M. Ruíz (b. Texcoco, Mexico State, September 2, 1892 – d. Mexico City, October 9, 1964), was a Mexican fine art painter and scenic designer otherwise known by his childhood nickname "El Corzo" or "El Corcito" (diminutive) which came about due to his resemblance to a popular Spanish bullfighter or torero. Personal life Ruíz was born in Texcoco, Mexico to a physician (father) and concert pianist (mother). His grandfather was a painter as well. Ruíz and his family moved to Mexico City in his childhood and he spent most of his adult life there. Both his mother and father died when he was young, so he turned to education as his support. Ruíz met Mereced Pérez Correa in 1925 and proposed but her father shipped her off to New York. Antonio Ruiz (died 6 February 1824) was an Argentine soldier and national hero of Argentina. Ruiz, nicknamed Falucho, was an Afro-Argentine soldier of the war of independence. Ruiz fought in José de San Martín’s army. According to the most common story, Corporal Ruiz, born a slave (perhaps in Africa), served in the Regiment of the River Plate and died while defending the colors (white and light blue) of the revolutionary flag (later the Argentine flag) against traitors during a revolt at the fort of El Callao, Peru) on February 6, 1824. Rather than hoist the Spanish flag, Falucho chose to be shot by the traitors, crying out with his last breath "''¡Viva Buenos Aires!''" (Long live Buenos Aires!). Antonio Ruiz Cervilla (born 31 July 1937) is a Spanish retired football midfielder and manager. Playing career Born in Guadalupe de Maciascoque, Region of Murcia, Ruiz played five years for Real Madrid, making his La Liga debut on 21 April 1957 in a 4–1 home win against Celta de Vigo. He appeared in only 15 games in his first three seasons combined, adding five complete matches in the club's 1958–59 campaign in the European Cup, including the 2–0 final win against Stade de Reims. In 1962, Ruiz signed for Deportivo de La Coruña on loan, being an undisputed starter during his only season but suffering relegation. Released by the ''Merengues'', he spent five of the following seven seasons in Segunda División, one of the two exceptions being 1964–65 with Real Murcia – top level relegation.
