Antonio Notario
Antonio Notario Caro (born 19 November 1972) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a ten-year professional career – he did not reach La Liga or Segunda División until the age of nearly 28 – he appeared in 229 matches in representation of four teams, mainly Sevilla. Club career Notario was born in Mataró, Barcelona, Catalonia. During his early career he played mostly with Andalusian clubs, beginning at Granada CF (two stints) then appearing for Valencia CF's reserves, Real Murcia, Polideportivo Almería and Guadix CF, with all of the clubs competing in Segunda División B. In summer 2000, Notario moved to Sevilla FC where he would have his most successful years, being promoted to La Liga in his first season and retaining first-choice status until the 2005–06 campaign, with the arrival of Andrés Palop relegating him to the bench. Mataró
Mataró () is the capital and largest town of the ''comarca'' of the Maresme, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia Autonomous Community, Spain. Fabián Carini
Héctor Fabián Carini Hernández (born 26 December 1979 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Carini played for Uruguayan club Danubio F.C. for three seasons, before signing with Italian club Juventus in January 2001, where he spent two seasons and was used mainly as a substitute goalkeeper. In March 2002 he was handed a start against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League due to Juventus rotating their squad having already qualified for the next round of the competition. He played well and saved a Thierry Henry penalty as Juventus won 1–0. Javier Clemente
Javier Clemente Lázaro (; born 12 March 1950) is a Spanish football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Forced to retire from playing in his early 20s through injury, he embarked on a coaching career with his first managerial appointment coming in 1975. Over the next four decades, he took charge of several club and national teams, including Athletic Bilbao which he also represented as a player, as well as Espanyol and Spain. He won the La Liga championship in 1983 and 1984 with the former. Nicknamed ''El rubio de Barakaldo'' (The blond from Barakaldo) per his hair colour and town of origin, Clemente coached the Spain national team in two World Cups and Euro 1996. The 2007–08 La Liga season, the 77th since its establishment, started on 25 August 2007 and finished on 18 May 2008. Real Madrid defended their La Liga title successfully after a 2–1 victory over Osasuna. 2005–06 UEFA Cup
The 2005–06 UEFA Cup, the 35th edition of the UEFA Cup, was won by Sevilla, beating Middlesbrough in the final. It was the first victory for Sevilla in a European competition, and the first appearance by Middlesbrough in a European final. The final took place at Philips Stadion, in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The match was refereed by Herbert Fandel. Middlesbrough sealed their place in the final on the back of two dramatic comebacks. In the quarter finals they beat FC Basel of Switzerland 4–3 on aggregate (after losing the first leg 2–0 and being 1–0 down in the second leg, they scored 4 goals), this put them into the semi–final to face Steaua București. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. Andrés Palop Cervera (; born 22 October 1973) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, currently a manager. After having languished on the bench of hometown club Valencia for most of his stay, he became a premiere player with Sevilla well into his 30s, helping it consolidate in both the domestic and European fronts.
