Jose Antonio Rodríguez Avelar (born August 25, 1958) is a Mexican former professional boxer in the flyweight division. He is a former WBC and Lineal flyweight Champion. Professional career In August 1980, Avelar won his first NABF Championship by Knocking out Alberto Morales. WBC Flyweight Championship In his second attempt, Avelar won the WBC and Lineal Flyweight titles by upsetting Shoji Oguma of Japan by T.K.O. in the seventh round. On July 25, 1987, Avelar lost his last bout to an undefeated Miguel Lora for the Colombian's WBC Bantamweight Championship. Miguel Lora
Miguel Lora Escudero (born April 12, 1961 in Montería, Córdoba Department, Córdoba), known as Miguel Lora or "Happy" Lora is a Colombian boxer. He reigned as the WBC bantamweight champion of the world from 1985 to 1988. Beginnings and world title Lora started training in his native Montería and eventually represented his home department. In 1977 he won a gold medal in a local tournament. From 1980 to 1983 he won several national and regional titles. On August 9, 1985 he got his first chance to fight for the championship against Mexican Daniel Zaragoza. Lora defeated Zaragoza to become the fifth Colombian champion. Prudencio Cardona (December 22, 1951 – August 4, 2019) was a Colombian professional boxer who was world flyweight champion. He represented his native country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany. He is the older brother of former super bantamweight world champion, Ricardo Cardona. Professional boxing career Prudencio Cardona made his professional boxing debut on November 2, 1973 defeating Luis Ramos by a four-round decision in Barranquilla, Colombia. This is a list of WBC world champions, showing every world champion certificated by the World Boxing Council (WBC). The WBC is one of the four major governing bodies in professional boxing, and certifies world champions in 18 different weight class (boxing), weight classes.
