Antoine Battut
Antoine Battut (born 1 January 1984) is a French rugby union player. His position is Flanker. Career Antoine Battut began his professional career in 2004 with his home-town club Toulouse, starting only two games in two seasons, before moving to FC Auch, where he helped them to the 2006–07 Pro D2 championship. He played for Auch in the Top 14 the following season, but they were relegated and Battut joined Montauban. He played there until they were relegated for financial reasons in 2010. He joined Racing Métro in 2010. Battut was an integral part of the French Top 14 side, Montpellier between 2014 and 2017. During that time he played twice in the 2015–16 European Rugby Challenge Cup. Bayonne (; eu, Baiona ; oc, label= Gascon, Baiona ; es, Bayona) is a city in Southwestern France near the Spanish border. It is a commune and one of two subprefectures in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Rugby Pro D2, also known as Pro D2 is the second tier of rugby union club competition division in France. It is operated by Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) which also runs the division directly above, the first division Top 14. Rugby Pro D2 was introduced in 2000. It is the world's best supported second tier rugby union league. Season structure There is relegation and promotion between both the Top 14 and Fédérale 1, the third-level competition. The top club at the end of the season is automatically promoted to the Top 14; through the 2016–17 season, the 2nd through 5th place teams play each other for the second promotion place. The bottom two are automatically relegated to Fédérale 1. The bottom two clubs of the Top 14 and the top two of Fédérale 1 then enter the Rugby Pro D2 for the next season. The 2015–16 European Rugby Challenge Cup was the second edition of the European Rugby Challenge Cup, an annual pan-European rugby union competition for professional clubs. It is also the 20th season of the Challenge Cup competition in all forms, following on from the now defunct European Challenge Cup.
